Modern high-gain guitar tone doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of an expertly-selected cabinet arsenal, speakers chosen with intent, and captures engineered for some serious volume. MII’s Crank It Up Volume II is the next evolution of the Crank It Up series — a focused DynIR cabinet collection built for aggressive guitar tones that stay tight, defined and physical when the gain is pushed.
Mic choice mattered just as much as the cabinets themselves. While LEWITT® joined the project as an official microphone partner, Crank It Up Volume II was captured using a wider lineup of trusted heavy-guitar microphones from Shure®, Royer®, Heil Sound® and Audix®. Every microphone was pushed hard, rotated through the cabinets and tested at real volume by Didier Chesneau, with final selections made strictly on performance — how each mic handled gain, attack and cabinet behaviour when everything was dimed.
Designed as a direct continuation of the original MII Crank It Up, Volume II goes deeper into high-gain territory with a carefully curated lineup of 4×12 cabinets captured specifically for rock and metal players who demand authority, control and impact.

This release marks a milestone for DynIR technology — the first DynIR cabinet collection to feature officially licensed microphones. Captures throughout Crank It Up Volume II were driven by LEWITT® microphones, a first-choice brand for modern high-gain guitar recording, trusted by engineers who work loud and demand punch, detail and balance without compromise.
LEWITT®’s involvement was the result of an ongoing pursuit to refine MII’s capture process. During the development of Crank It Up Volume II, LEWITT®’s microphone range was extensively tested as part of that process, highlighting just how critical microphone choice is to accurately capturing cabinet behaviour. That collaboration led to the decision to officially integrate a microphone brand for the first time — recognising the microphone as a defining element of the DynIR sound.
Each cabinet was captured using LEWITT®’s LCT 1040, LCT 441 FLEX and DTP 640 REX, selected for their ability to handle extreme sound-pressure levels while preserving clarity, punch and control under heavy gain. These were paired with proven heavy-guitar mic standards inspired by Shure®, Royer®, Heil Sound® and Audix®, resulting in tight, aggressive and mix-ready mic options that hold together when everything is pushed.
LEWITT®’s name on this release isn’t a footnote — it’s a statement of confidence in both the capture process and the tones on offer.
