Crank It Up Volume II was created by two renowned sound engineers known for delivering unmistakably big guitar sounds from two complementary worlds. Didier Chesneau brings the perspective of a producer and studio musician, focused on tone, balance and how cabinets translate in recordings. Stéphane Brulez, a long-time collaborator, contributes a live-sound approach shaped by real-world volume, stage impact and consistency night after night. Together, these two perspectives combine to form a highly versatile cabinet collection — built to hit hard in the studio, on stage and everywhere in between.

Every cabinet in this collection was meticulously selected for how it reacts when pushed hard. Oversized enclosures that throw sound wide and hit with physical weight sit alongside modern high-gain cabinets engineered for control, speed and midrange authority. Nothing here is polite, softened or “studio safe.” These are captures of cabinets doing exactly what they’re designed to do when gain is dimed, tuning is dropped and precision matters.

Crank It Up Volume II pushes deeper into modern aggression than the original release. Tight, mid-forward Vintage 30 tones bring cut and urgency, G12-75-loaded cabinets deliver fast attack and controlled low end, and Greenback-equipped 4x12s inject grind and movement where feel and character are paramount. Each DynIR is designed to work on its own, but the collection is built to stack and layer without collapsing into mud under extreme gain.

This collection also marks the first time officially licensed microphones have been featured in a DynIR Cabinet Collection. Captures are driven by LEWITT® microphones, a first-choice brand for modern heavy guitar recording, trusted for their ability to handle serious SPL while retaining punch, detail and balance. Each cabinet was captured using LEWITT®’s LCT 1040, LCT 441 FLEX and DTP 640 REX, paired with proven heavy-guitar mic standards inspired by Shure®, Royer®, Heil Sound® and Audix®, delivering aggressive, mix-ready mic options that stay tight when everything is pushed to the edge.
