Sikth are a British progressive metal band from Watford, Hertfordshire, England, formed in 1999. They are considered to have been a key influence on the development of djent alongside Meshuggah.

“Aliases” formed in April 2010 when guitarists Pin and Leah decided that the music they had been writing together should be taken into a band context. Drummer Darren Pugh and bassist Joe Heaton were quickly brought on board.

The only missing part was a vocalist and having searched high and low Parisian Jay Berast joined the band. Wasting no time, the band set to work on their debut six track EP and in July put out the rough demo track “We Should Never Have Met”, which was received with an overwhelmingly positive response online.

This prompted an invitation to play at the prestigious Euroblast Festival in Cologne, Germany where the band stole the show, affirming them as a major force to be reckoned with.

Nathan “Barley” Phillips, founder of Basick Records commented: After hearing all the demos and then subsequently having my face ripped off by “Aliases” live show at Euroblast in Germany, I just knew that we had to sign them.
