‘The EL34 head is plugged into my speakers for my live sound, the 6L6 is plugged into a Torpedo Live, load box / cabinet simulation from Two notes Audio Engineering, before joining our insulated Box of Doom speaker cabinet, so the front of house is able to choose which sound to use directly for some parts of our songs.’
In 2017, when Gojira was 20 years old, they was nominated for the Grammy Awards in the “best metal performance” category for their “Stranded” title, and in the category “best rock album of the year” for their 6th album “Magma”.
Gojira is one of the most popular “Progressive Metal” bands in the world and one of the only French bands that has really managed to export abroad.
Since their third album “From Mars To Sirius”, their fame has grown steadily, and the fact that the members of Metallica are big fans of the band is not a coincidence; they are seriously appreciated by the Metal community in short.

Metallica invited them on a US tour in the fall of 2009 and in the first part of their concert at the Stade de France in 2012. These dates have greatly contributed to the group’s international reputation.
As well as, to a lesser extent, their activism for the protection of the environment and especially marine species. Alongside famous Metal musicians such as Devin Townsend, Fredrik Thordendal and many others, they released a five-song EP at the end of 2011, the proceeds of which go to the Sea Shepherd Foundation, well known for its fight against the massacre of whales.
